Photographer's Note

Diema is a little town of the north-west of Mali, in the area of Kayes, about 340 km north from Bamako.
The city has 9000 inhabitants, 20000 if you add the hamlets of the town.
It grows quickly in a recent time because it's a crossroads of the road Bamako-Mauritania (the section Nioro-du-Sahel / Ayoun-El-Atrous is tared since some years) and the road Bamako-Senegal.

This thirsday morning, a big market set in the crossroads : there was hustle and bustle, music, colors...
I just don't know if the market set each day and what did the little merchand carry.

To be complete, Diema is twined with a town of parisian suburbs, Chilly-Mazarin (Essonne), since 1986.
The french renovated the water taps and now try to develop the market gardeners
