Photographer's Note

This photo is the last one of Henna triology. In this one You can see how the beautiful henna shapes are made to the hand. The henna maker fills the henna into plastic bags in a special way and heats the plastic bags in the steam of small heater at the ground. The henna melts and get soft enough to be applied on the hand. She was very experienced on her work as she was a very busy henna maker.

Henna is very popular amongst both the mature and young ladies of Libya. It is applied to hands, the ancles and also to face mainly to forehead. There is red and black colored henna. Although it is usually applied before weddings in Turkey, in Libya ladies apply it nearly everytime. You can have the henna either from a Henna maker or we can say artist, or you can get some ready templates from markets and make yourself at home.

I think it gives a very mysterious look to the Libyan ladies. And that is also what the Libyan men thinks I presume.
