Photographer's Note

Although a visit to Kenya is more for the wild life experience, you may want to visit a masai village. Before our trip to a village in Samburu, our experienced friends warned us that it may become a shopping stop. That is why we checked with our guide, more than once, to make sure that it was a genuine village with local people. And it turns out it was one such good example. When we got to the entrance of the village we understood at once that what we have guessed - very wrongly - during our flight to the region to be animal shelters were indeed villages. Every village has as many houses as the number of married woman. Each man can have more than one wife, and every wife has her own home. During day time, the men are herding the cattle and only women, girls and young boys are left in the village.
