WoW! Such a strong story told within the picture! I love the tones alot, the natural and even tones of yellows and browns. In a way I feel sad for this family because it's a livelihood that many of us cannot comprehend. THank you for reminding us about how lucky we are. Congrats for postage in National Geographic Poland. :)

PS: I Would have loved to see the full picture with the mum's face too.

Yes, I see why National Geographic Poland published this work. Great stuff.

Apparently Trekearth is a rough crowd as I can't believe this has been viewed 82 times with 1 smiley. Hmmmm.

Well, it's real life, not staged...and it is a spur of the moment shot....not a sunset, landscape, or piece of architecture photographers get to ponder over.

A very good shot.

Beautiful, tremendous shot again. You have focused on the idea of motherhood, no head, no feet, and this crop is really working. Beautiful also how the child is not a babe any longer yet sustained by the mother's milk and embrace. I wish Western "civilization" would take this as an example too.

You have an amazing way of distilling a dramatic, almost apocaliptic aspect of human nature in your photos, this is such an example.
COngratulations on your photo being selected.
I was inspired by your style when I took the photo which I posted a couple of days ago also of a mother and child.
