Church goers, a photo from Tigray, North

Photographer's Note

This group of men were in the main church in the 6th century Ethiopian Orthodox monastery of Debra damo. There was a festival the following day, so more people were gathered there than is usually the case. The monastery is a male only place, hence, no women present.

Hello Steve,
A nice and quite original photo from a kind of place probably not seen here very often. It reminds me of a visit to a monastery in Eritrea, although I was only in the courtyard.
