Photographer's Note

This is one of the priests at the Narga Selassie monastery. This monastery is located on an island in the middle of Lake Tana. Normally tourists go to other monasteries closer to Bahar Dhar which take a half day trip. Narga Selassie takes the whole day but is worth it due to the quality of the mural paintings and the friendliness of the people there.

That's a great shot. Superb perspective from the low pointo of view. The man in white keeping the key in his hand is a perfect subject. Lovely colourful background.

this pov enables to see both the monk and the context and it is very important,
interesting that we can see the man smiling which is not a common among the "orthodox" christian priest (or am i wrong?)
another important detail - the symbol of religion held in the hand,

Hi Daniel, A fanatstic portrait here. You have been daring with this low pov and honestly you couldn't have chose a better one. Alors là Daniel , je savais que ca deconnait sec sur le site en cemoment, mais là j'en ai vraiment la repuve! cette photo est extraordianire et selon moi ta meilleure depuis que je regarde ton portfolio! la lumière est extraordianire, la contreplongée sublime, l'arrière plan superbe et ton cadrage pile poil comme il fallait le faire! bref, j'adore ta photo Daniel et elle merite bcp mieux que ces malheureux 30 points.. quand je pense à ces daubes qui choppent de 50 à 100 points, voire plus... Pas de noms, ca pourrait etre désagreable... je suis dégouté de continuer à venir!

i love your photos Daniel; i've walked through your ethiopian gallery and i reminded my own ethiopian journey - 2 years ago;
the same places, the same faces, the same manners, and the same views; one thing is different - there's a lot of darkness on your shots (clouds);
Ethiopia upgrade our consciousness - the last one pole of human civilization, standing strong in mid-ages; i hope you agree;
