Photographer's Note

A wider angled view of the Abu Simbel statues of Ramesses II. The 2nd one from the left collapsed long ago before they were moved in 1968 from the Aswan Dam zone of submersion. The old photographs prove it. The head with an ear visible is stacked at left and the hat at right. The rest of the head and torso remain missing, perhaps destroyed in an ancient earthquake, and the rubble carted off for landfill?
