Photographer's Note

Kom Ombo was an unusual temple, because it was dedicated to 2 Gods, namely Sobek with the crocodile head, and falcon headed Horus, seen here as both the sun and the moon, which were his left and right eyes. He was also the God of Kingship and all 3 are blessing the Pharaoh at left. This bas relief dates from 332 BC to AD 395). More info here:

hello Chris, Fascinating relief from Kom Ombo. I like here Sobek with the crocodile head. Horus is more often depicted. I always like these ankhs.
I visited many places in Egypt that one should visit, but unfortunately not Kom Ombo, when I was with the organized tour in 1993.

great side light allowed the figures to become three dimensional. Very impressive effect. I like this one for showing a larger full scene. It reminds me again the movie "Gods of the Egypt".
