Photographer's Note
The sanctuary of Amun-Re is located in the middle of the west wall of the Upper Courtyard of the Temple of Hatshepsut
The Polish-Egyptian Conservation Mission at the Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari was founded in 1961 by Prof. Kazimierz Michałowski. He was a Polish archaeologist and Egyptologist, art historian, member of the Polish Academy of Sciences, professor of the University of Warsaw as well as the founder of the Polish school of Mediterranean archaeology and a precursor of Nubiology.
When I was in school, I was so impressed by the works of Polish archaeologists in Egypt that I considered studying archaeology. Finally, I chose physics but my love for all ancient ruins remained.
See also Workshops. I hope you will find it beautiful and interesting.

Hello Malgo,
This was probably somewhere in the area that was closed for restorations when I visited Hatshepsut's temple. Large parts have been destroyed through the years, but much remains and is beautiful enough to give us an idea of the fantastic impact this place must have made. I like very much the blue area at the top (ceiling?).
Kind regards,
Gert

HI Malgo,
The artworks are impressive. The point of view is showing the details of the Amun sanctuary. The light is giving good colors rendering. Have a nice day.

Hello Malgo,
I don't know how it was with you. But at a younger age some people in Belgium also dream of becoming an archaeologist. The adventurous aspect is attractive at a young age. Ultimately, however, job opportunities play an important role in the choice of study in higher education. Probably that wasn't your motivation. I'm just thinking back to some people in Belgium.
The sense of adventure has always stayed with you.
I'm surprised that through the many centuries the colours of the paintings have remained so intact.
We also find some nice colour contrasts.
Best regards, Paul

To zdjecie chyba bylo robione w dosc niskim oswietleniu, a jednak wyszlo bardzo dobrze. Ciekawe szczegoly, to musi rzeczywiscie byc fascynujaca praca i nie dziwie sie, ze kiedys chcialas zostac archeologiem.
Pozdrawiam serdecznie

Hello Malgo, the colours and designs are still very apparent even today after so many years have passed. We can only imagine just how magnificent it looked originally.
I have never seen pictures from this particular site before, so thanks for sharing.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hi Malgo
Thanks for posting this. I didn't feel like walking any further than the upper terrace in the 48c heat, so I missed this. Excellent colour, sharpness and lighting. Tfs!

Hello Malgo,
These are fantastic frescoes made of tiles. It looks like they are three dimensional, too.
