Photographer's Note
We all know how John likes the horse-drawn carriages. So here is something for him - three carts from Luxor.
Horse-Drawn Carriage is one of the ancient means of transportation and it's used now for excursions.
Touring the ancient capital of Thebes is a more romantic way as you embark on a Horse-Drawn Carriage through the beautiful streets of Luxor and the city's historic centre.
In the background, you can see the new Corniche - the promenade along the Nile.
I preferred to go on foot :).

Hello Malgo,
I don't recognize this area. I think they may have cleaned up Luxor since 1983. I get an impression you didn't take any ride with any of these carriages. It would have involved a lot of bargaining. I read in my diary how I always managed to bring the price down at least by half for any boat or taxi, but I always suspected that I still paid twice as much as the locals. ;-)
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Malgo
This is how I got to and from Karnak, although I refused to budge when the young driver suddenly doubled the price after I had already negotiated with him. Good sharpness and a tantalising glimpse of the Nile in the bg. Tfs!

Hello Malgo,
**Thank you very much for this picture to dedicate to me.
Indeed I like carriages, more than the most beautiful cars**
I can never find an carriage with this nice background.
Lovely with little bit moving in the wheels.
Excellent detailed too.
Very well done, TFS.
Best regards,
John

Hello Malgo,
On all three photos the carriages have no passengers.
By taking these photos or just looking into their direction, you got the attention of the coachmen.
Perhaps a journey by carriage is a bit more pleasant in warm Luxor. After all, I see that there is very little shade.
The Corniche looks very modern and clean but the clothes of the coachmen show that this is Egypt.
Behind the fence we also see a lot of white masts.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Malgo,
The trees are helping to frame the scene. the point of view is showing the details of the horse and of the carriage. The light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Ciao Malgo,I remember these carriages in Luxor well, all ready to offer a tour at a good price and then change the bill when paying. One of the drivers even made us some indecent sexual proposals..ahaha .. Beautiful photos that cause me so many memories! In my bar the temperature is usually around 20 degrees, but often for a quick breakfast, customers prefer not to take off their clothes. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Malgo.
Three wonderful compositions, with these buggies that give a beautiful touch to that Luxor promenade, beautiful tree, original streetlights, I see everything very changed from how I remembered it.
Both the color and the brightness of the photo are magnificent, highlighting the beauty and sharpness of the composition.
Very well done. I like it.
Have a good day.
Very best regards.
Luis.
