Photographer's Note

A classic view of possibly the most famous structures on the planet. Completed around 2500 BC, they are the only wonders of the ancient world that still survive today. Here I have captured them in the late afternoon sun, which makes the stone reflect a golden yellow colour.

In the foreground is the Pyramid of Khafre (Chepren) and behind is the Great Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops). The further structure is actually the largest but does not appear so because it is built on lower ground. This picture was taken with the third and smaller Pyramid of Menkaure (Mycerinus) just behind me.
