PT: Aguardando a chegada dos turistas que visitam a Fortaleza Real de S. Filipe, na Cidade Velha (Ribeira Grande de Santiago), perto da cidade da Praia na ilha de Santiago em Cabo Verde.
Esta árvore é uma das poucas sombras naturais disponíveis neste local.

Nesta zona o chão está ressequido por acção do sol e apresenta a cor vermelha, laranja ou castanho.
Mas logo a seguir à árvore existe um vale profundo, cavado ao longo dos séculos pelas enxurradas de água provocadas pelas chuvas, tão pouco frequentes nesta ilha, que formam leitos temporários de um imenso rio. Neste vale forma-se um grande oásis formado por vegetação luxuriante e onde se cultivam as terras.

The tree is one of the few natural shadows available in this place around.

In this area the ground is completely burned by the sun, the ground is red, orange and brown.
But just after the tree a big canyon was dig by the raining storms and the water runs only on that time. At the bottom of the canyon, the vegetation gives us a luxurious green color (not seen in this photo) and the fields are cultivated.
