Praia is the largest city of Cape Vert and the capital of the Republic and of the S. Tiago Island where it stays.

With a commercial harbour witch major activity is the coffee, sugarcane and tropical fruits exportation...

In the local market one can find fantastic and friendly smiles mainly from sympathetic and joyfull ladies selling it as you can see...

Technically I'd have preferred this with a cleaner background, and with a shallower depth of field to isolate the tow more women a bit more.
Such technicalities pale into insignificance though, when set against the great expressions that you've captured here, especially on the face of the woman on the left - she looks a real character.
It's a good double street portrait Rui, I like it.

Olá Rui,
É um belo retrato de rua, cheio de vida, boa disposição e bem colorido. Não foste muito feliz com o fundo - as casas até que não ficam mal (ia a escrever que 'não estão mal', mas isso podia ser mal interpretado), mas os carros... Ainda um dia vou pensar seriamente porque é que quase sempre odiamos ver esses objectos nas fotos. Talvez um 'blurrezinho' pudesse melhorar a coisa, mas não tenho a certeza.

This is a wonderful shot I love the expression on these women's faces. I also enjoy very much the bowls with vegetables and fruits they are carrying on their head. That that background is not perfect is nothing to do about when taking a snapshot like this. An excellent job. Have a nice week end!

Hi Rul,
An excellent scene of the market!
I like so much the smile and expression of the young ladies, with all that fruits over their heads.
Love this colorful moment of the daily life there.
Perhaps the picture is some over-contrasted.

Perfect capture of this arvelous skill of carrying such weight on top of the head and still be able to make faces and charm with a photographer. You did a very good and funny portrait here, Rui. However, it seems that she is more interested in selling you some bananas, right?

Interesting and colourful daily life scene, Rui. It looks like the woman on the right was trying hard to sell you the bunch of bananas. Your shallow DOF helps keep the cluttered background sufficiently out of focus not to be too distracting. Contrast could be a little too hard. Cheers . . . David
