Photographer's Note

This post, like the previous, is inspired by António’s photo and funny note.
This is the brand new, most modern airport in Cape Verde, the Praia International Airport (RAI). This kind of tent is the airport cafeteria near the departures. It is open between the wall and the canvas, but there is no problem with the weather, as the rain is very rare and it's never really cold anytime.
No post-processing; the place is rather dark because they were saving energy that night (see note of previous post).
Especially for Ricardo (riclopes) there's a workshop with the best view (that night) of one of the murals that are between the building and the street. I add also a bad photo with a part of other mural.

Ha,ha, outra vez, Francisco. Sempre achei piada à forma aerodinâmica destas telas tensionadas. De facto este lado é mais agradável e convidativo. Curiosamente o mural foi logo o que me atraiu e depois é que vi a referência à minha pessoa. Obrigado pelo pormenor em WS. Iria pedir-to se não o tivesses dado :))))) Numa 1ª vista parece-me estranho a colocação dele, pois a forma pesada do paralelipepedo em betão não joga bem com aquelas coberturas em tela. A pintura fez-me sorrir, pois faz lembrar alguns trabalhos que eu fiz no início - pictórico e naif. É isto mesmo que eu quero fazer, embora o outro da casa, menos modernaço seja muito melhor, para o meu gosto e em qualidade também parece-me. Aquele táxi está mesmo mal estacionado!

Olá Francisco,
boa foto nocturna deste aeroporto no mínimo estranho.
è tudo tão estranho as a cobertura de tela branca, depois as vidraças em baixo, esse mural no lado direito que parece não ter nada a ver com tudo isto.
Mas a tua foto mostra-nos bem todos estes detalhes.

Ola amigo Francisco muito interessante a arquitectura deste aeroporto aqui no Estoril tem umas discotecas onde tem umas telas destas as vezes de verão faz muito vento e nao se podia tar debaixo delas ,gostei da parede de betão com as pinturas!!!

That is a very modern airport, those tent-like roofs show up nicely in this light. I also like the detail of the mural; Is that an archbisop baptizing a baby?

Sorry I'm so far behind on your photos, Traveling with my son & grandaughter and skiing every day gives me one early morning hour a day with TE; However, there is no way I'd trade this for more TE time :-) SAJ, Pat

Pois é, Francisco, o aeroporto parece simples, moderno e bonito. A tenda oferece sensação de aconchego e o efeito da iluminação noturna, bem captado pór vc, é muito legal. Bom trabalho! Abraço! Miguel.

Me usta mucho este tipo de arquitectura esta muy de moda en todos lados, la luz es exelente, me gustao el WS asi puedo ver los dos murales y claro los carros en espera ;)
