Photographer's Note

April 17, 2006.
Contrary to the other day, this time it is well of a plane at an altitude of 1500 m that I took this photograph.

We leave the island of Sal to go to the island of Fogo. After a flight of 40 minutes, small stopover with Praia to change plane. In fact we go up on the same aircraft.

After the takeoff of Praia, the capital of the Capo Verde, we fly over the buttresses of the mountains of the center of the island of Santiago.

The island of Santiago is the largest of the archipelago. It has a surface of 991 km2. It is also the most populated with 237' 000 people, that is about half of the population of the Capo Verde.

On this island, the ground is completely burned by the sun, the ground is red. But of the brooks small canyons dug, at the bottom of which, water runs, and a vegetation gives us a pretty contrast of color with the burned ground.

I was looking this for a long time.
