Landscape near Monte Tchóta on the island of Santiago. Monte Tchóta (about 1000 m above sea level) is located in the Parque Natural de Pico da Antonia, a starting point for hiking the peak of the Pico da Antonia.

It was very impressive to climb with the bus this narrow road up to village.

I think that this greenery is very rare in Cape Verde . But this year was rainy , I suppose . This landscape is superb . It remains me some parts of the Canary Islands .

Es wird bei mir auf Santo Antao nicht ganz so grün sein aber die Felsen werden ähnlich aussehen.
Ich glaube das ist das grünste Bild der Kapverden,daß ich je gesehen habe,sehr schön!!!
Mir graut es mit meiner Höhenangst schon vor diesen Straßen.

Olá Achim, this is an exciting landscape for me. So many sharp peaks, so beautifully green. I would never guess we are Cape Verde and only around 1000m. Seems more like the landscape of Madeira island... Love the sight of the road too.

Hello Achim,

What strikes me with Cape Verde is the dominant green, even the rugged peaks seem to be covered with some kind of greenery!
This is a fine landscape capture, telling the story of the place very well...
An attractive composition with good details!

You would have taken this picture from the moving bus as is evidenced from the motion blur in the FG. The greens are beautiful, but what attracts is the road which runs through the middle in what appears like quite a steep climb and then levelling out. Peculiar conical shape of the hills as well. Well done!

Hi Achim.

The curve of the road is an asset to the composition. The peaks in the middle are framing well the mountain in the background. The point of view leads my eye toward Monte Tchôta which is giving depth to the photo. The luminosity is giving a good contrast to the colors. Have a nice day.
