Photographer's Note
Taken in 1995 in Cape Verde on a Humanitarian Mission in September, during one rare but very nasty colera outbrake.
We reached some remote vialges in the hills of Santiago and started giving some healthcare advice a distruting food a vitamines to the children when this one caught my eye.
She was completly oblivious to the other children playing around and had her eyes fixed on me and on my ugly white complection, she did this for quite a while. I'm very good at staring people in the eyes, this litle one was one of the few people that beat me with ease.
This photo was lost in a midle of duzens of others from my days in the university, so I had to scan it. I remeber I took this one with a Minolta reflex, manually, and God knows how.

This is a really nice shot Afonso, and I think the noise and lack of sharpness due to the scan add to the atmosphere of the image.
The composition is good with the tree providing a natural frame for the children.
You've caught a nice moment here, well done.

Olá Afonso
Não me interessam, nesta imagem, os detalhes técnicos. A foto, junto com a nota, é um documento importante.
