Photographer's Note

Like in many other countries, also in Cape Verde some pretty old houses are bulldozed to make room to ugly apartment blocks, like the ones looming in background of this shot.
This humble little house still resisted two years ago; I'm not sure today. It was sightly off-center Mindelo city, São Vicente Island, on the avenue from Lajinha area to Alto Miramar.
Please don't get a wrong general idea of Cape Verde; it has also very well preserved historic heritage. for example the former Governor's Palace.
Maybe you'd like to see a couple of well preserved houses, in downtown, or the old Padaria Popular.
