Photographer's Note
Palm Sunday, around noon, little bay in Mindelo, main town of the island Sao Vicente where Cesaria Evora was born...
Down-to-earth place where ordinary people play cards, drink rum, talk to the strangers...
"Where are you from, amigo?..."
"Poland, my friend..."
"Aaah, that's Europe, I know, I was in Switzerland some 20 years ago...It must be close...Have a dringk with us, amigo..."
"No problem, you try my Polish specialty as well, my friend..."
...and so it went...

Pozdrawiam i życzę spokojnych świąt Wielkiejnocy.

Hi Jerzy,
Unlike Horatiu's words "Unusual scene", I say that is a very usual scene in Mindelo. Your story in the note (and photo) is no surprise for me. [You know, I've been several times to Mindelo.]
Regards, or Mantenha (in Cape-Verdean Creole)
