São Vicente (in local dialect the crioulo: "Sanvicente ou Soncente") it’s the second more populated island of Cabo Verde at northeast of the archipelago.

São Vicente is well know for its Music Festival “Baía das Gatas which takes place -- in the beach with the same name -- at the first weekend of plain moon in August.

Mindelo the capital, in this picture taken from the highest point of the island “Monte Verde with 774 meters of altitude

Ola Rui,
This is the most beautiful picture I've seen of Cape Verde: The silhouettes of the spikey desert plants allow us to view the red land and the blue water as if looking through a fan. The clouds create shadows that add great drama to the landscape while a bit of sunlight highlights the harbor.

Hi Rui,

I am really impressed by the overall sharpness of this shot and I love your composition the leaves of the cactuses that are anexcellent lead-in to the lancscape. The colours and the lighting is fantastic.

Parece-me que tiveste sorte com o tempo na subida ao Monte Verde. Às vezes as nuvens não deixam ver nada. E aproveitaste muito bem a oportunidade.
