Three Soldiers Parade, a photo from Sao Vicente, Barlavento

Photographer's Note

This is not a military parade with just three persons. These French soldiers were casually walking on Mindelo downtown, São Vicente Island, when suddenly the middle one (a woman) stopped and turned. Then I've got them in this unusual position. The French military are here because the photo was taken during the days of the Steadfast Jaguar 2006, a NATO exercise in Cape Verde.
In the background at right there is the Consulat de France.

Interesting POV. That woman sure is tall! I like this shot of daily life in Cape Verde.

O do lado esquerdo tem um andar bem militarista. Faz-me lembrar um alferes que eu conheci quando fiz a minha recruta em Angola há 37 anos atrás! Foto interessante.

Ha,ha, de facto a situação tem piada. Quase que parece uma montagem...de repente lembrei-me dos Kalkitos ("Kalkitos ó mania é imparável!", lembras-te?). Ela parece um kalkito não muito bem colocado e fora de escala - devia estar mais à frente. Se não referisses, não teria percebido que era uma mulher. E que mulher enorme! Se calhar é por isso que é militar. Bem apanhado!

I do not know how y've ment it, but to me it's a humorous capture - and a vivid one - this tall lady can beat both of the guys, I think... And what a symbolic dark legs of poverty from the left!...

What a great scene...
You can't just look at his picture and not to have a smile on your face.
Humorous if not an extravagant situation...LOLOLOL
That gentle giant in the middle...You should have follow her and snap some more photos...But then...You can be shot or something...

That is a very tall woman! A like this scene as at least one of the soldiers seem to exercise some dominant attitude in his face. Good capture of this moment and I also wonder what the female soldier was looking at. Hopefully it wasn't serious. Nice work Francisco.
