Third of the mini-series about colonial, old schools in Mindelo, São Vicente Island, Cape Verde. After the Liceu and the Escola Técnica, I present today a Escola Primária (basic or primary school). This one is located near the Praça Nova, in the centre of Mindelo. It was constructed in 1945 (as we can read in the the plaque on the façade - see workshop, and the text below *). This school is still used nowadays. It has two entrances. I had difficulty to choose the main post; I decided for this which is the secondary entrance, on Rua Angola; here I prefer the colours and the light; in workshop I post the main façade, on the opposite street. The two photos were shot in different days and different hours. See also another POV of this secondary façade.
Aqui está uma das antigas escolas primárias do Mindelo, na ilha de São Vicente de Cabo Verde, ainda em uso actualmente. Em workshops está outra vista desta fachada secundária, a fachada principal e placa onde se lê:
1945. Mandado construir pelo Governador João de Figueiredo, executado pelo Administrador do Concelho Capitão Mota Carmo.
