Photographer's Note

You saw already this boat, Leticia, aground but in the water in my previous photo of this series of Cape Verde Fisherman.
After unloading (fish and apparel), some fishermen are now pulling it out of reach of high tide. It is not easy job, therefore it requires co-operation, the djunta mon ("joining hands") as they say in Cape-Verdean Creole.
This place of fishing landing, with some ruined houses, is near the main village of Baía das Gatas, in São Vicente Island, Cape Verde. In background you see also the Monte Verde, the highest mountain of the island (see it also: click here).
A man is already preparing a fish for their lunch. You'll see him better in another post.
This shot was inspired by my older one in 1999.
