After Akbar Shafiee (Leo71538)'s comment to my photo German military TV on the beach ("I suppose the troop had enjoyed a nice time there!") I decided today's post. Indeed, during their liberty or leave periods the NATO troops (of Steadfast Jaguar 2006 exercises) did enjoy their time in São Vicente Island (Cape Verde), both on the beach (Baía das Gatas, here), sporting or somewhere in town.
For me (I guess, for most people), it was a weird or even humorous sight the soldiers (both men and women) with their military uniforms on the beach, often changing them for swimsuits on the spot, arriving and departing in military vehicles.
I didn't dare to photograph them more flagrantly, especially the women soldiers, therefore this photo and the workshops is the best I could do ;-)
In this shot there are other groups of soldiers nearer to the shore, as well as some local people.

As tropas da NATO (dos exercícios Steadfast Jaguar 2006) no verão passado em Cabo Verde, além dos exercícios militares, tiveram tempo para se divertirem, ou passá sabe como dizem os cabo-verdianos. Foi esquisito, mas também humorístico, ver os soldados (homens e mulheres) trocando os uniformes por fatos-de-banho em plena praia. Não tive lata para os fotografar mais descaradamente.
