Baía das Gatas is a small village located along a natural bay and its beach is a huge natural pool. The name of this bay comes from the abundance in its waters a shark species called "shark-cat". The village annually receives a famous international music festival.
The village of Baia das Gatas is situated 12 km east of the city of Mindelo on the island of São Vicente in Cape Verde.
