Photographer's Note

In 1460, Antonio and Bartolomeo da Noli, on the service of portuguese king, D. Afonso V, ashore an uninhabited set of islands in the Atlantic Ocean, not very far from the African coast.

Soon Cabo Verde became an important Portuguese Commercial platform in the Atlantic Ocean.

There where set important economic trade activities (slaves, goods, equipments…) linking the African coast and Portugal and other European countries, and later on also with Portuguese colonies in America, Africa and in the Orient.
