Costa da Fragata, a photo from Sal, Barlavento

Photographer's Note

East of Santa Maria is the beautiful Costa da Fragata located. The permanent hot north-east wind blows heavy and the waves are rolling high on the beach. No swimming possible (and so no hotels build here)!!!

In the background you could see a tourist area and spotting point which is used for stops during round trips. And at the horizon the rest of some million old volcanos about 100m high.

Was für eine Brandung! Das ganze Foto ist voller Dynamik und dieses Meer lässt einen die ziemlich trostlose Landschaft (so erschint sie mir) fast ü+bersehen. Dieser farbenfrohe Angler ist hier das i-Tüpfelchen!

In 7 Wochen werde ich wieder da sein,aber nur kurz,denn dann gehts via Sao Vicente wieder nach Santo Antao.Bin gespannt,wo Du außer SAl sonst och warst.

Much dynamics in this photograph with the assistance of the wind !!! Beautiful panorama on this coastal region. The fisherman is welcome in this landscape swept by the winds. Indeed it is not here that I will be able to bathe but apparently that does not annoy fish. Exoticism in this photograph, thank you Achim.

Being a sailor enthusiast the sight of this rough sea fascinates me, and its colour contrasts so well with the barren hills in the bg. It's a composition full of grace and charm with a strong taste of exotic destination. The man with red short pants is a fine eye catcher.
