Sal seen from height of 1' 000 m.... no it is a lie, It is well the island of Sal, but only seen 1' 000 mm, is 1 m in height.

We are in the crater of Pedra de Lume, in the saltworks, at the edge of one of the salted and saturated water lakes. Salt settles on the edges, which give this effect of sand coasts marine with small dunes. The pink that one see in water and on salt, is probably due to iodine contained in water. The salt crystals that I will show you another time, are pink while leaving water. They lose this color dew after a few days after being out of the water. The iodine being volatile must leave.

Yeah I see what you mean....you have managed to create an interesting illusion.Could easily mistake for an airial view of the lake.Looks like an interesting place to visit.

on pourrait s'y méprendre si l'eau n'était pas si claire.

Hi Jacques!
Good closeup view of the salty shore.You are right with your note;It could also be a landscape shot taken from a plane.
I`m not sure about the red color, wether it`s caused by sea-weed like in some Bolivian lagunas or iodine.
I noticed that we have been there the same day.
I arrived at Sal on the 14th and came back to this place 3 weeks later before departure.

Un joli mensonge, on s'y laisserait prendre. J'aime beaucoup ces paysages de salins et les couleurs qu'ils apportent.
Une très jolie photo et un beau contraste entre l'eau et ce sel.

Execellente vue aérienne digne d'un reportage de Nicolas Hulot.
Je croyais que c'était un petit animal dont raffolent les flamants qui donne cette couleur rosée.
J'apprécie cette composition issue d'une idée originale.
