Photographer's Note
Not actually a road in european standards, but it works. To drive here you need not only 4X4 but also a skilled driver. The road is in many parts damaged by erosion and sometimes there are big holes and bumps. And don't forget, you sit in the back of pick up and have no chance of foreseeing any bump... Basically, your a... and back hurts after that for some days :-)
I can only recommend a trip to Tarrafal de Monte Trigo, the road alone is worth the adventure. You will pass the dry high plane of Campo Redondo and with good weather be able to see several volcanoes...
And don't worry about the road, it is only a 2 to 3 hours drive :-)

Hello Franz,
A beautiful photograph accompanied by a supportive and witty note. I liked the was you have framed the shot with the snaky road vanishing and merging into the background.
TFS.

Hi Franz,
Incredible shot of the road. It kind of reminds me of a road that leads to the top of the Etna vulcano. That was black gravel and also zig zaggy. You need a 4x4 with jumbo tires to get anywhere. That road is only fun if you can drive yourself.Gilbert
