Photographer's Note

Tarrafal de Monte Trigo is a small fishing and agricultural village located in the southwest of Santo Antao. It is located near a water spring and therefore watering of several plants like sugar cane (mostly), banana, mango and papaya is done there.
There are even a few coconut trees there, maybe ten in total. Typical for not only Tarrafal, but all the northern islands of Cabo Verde are the hay roofs of the small houses, as can be seen in the picture. These houses are replaced more and more by more robust roofs, since the hay roofs suffer especially during strong rainfalls.

Good detail of the hay roofs.Looks like a nice place to visit with palm trees and banana trees, but I wouldn`t like to sleep in one of those huts

Hallo Franz Xaver,
interessante Aufnahme mit dem erhöhten Standpunkt.
Eine Traumlage mit unverbaubarem Meerblick.
Was das Stroh angeht - sowas gibts hier doch auch - nennt sich Reet und hält mindestens ebensolange, wie Ziegel. Vor allem - es fligt nicht gleich bei jedem mehr als lauen Lüftchen davon. Stroh ist mit den Netzen drauf wohl auch für stärkere Winde geeignet aber wenn es dort wirklich mal länger stark regnet läuft das Wasser bestimmt durch.

Ich hätte versucht, die Palme nicht so mittig zu plazieren.

Hallo Franz Xaver

Dein POV von oben herab war eine sehr gute Wahl, das Bild wird so viel dynamischer. Streng genommen sollte die Palme nicht in der Bildmitte sein, was mit ein paar Schritten nach rechts möglich gewesen wäre, aber ich kenne den Ort nicht, vielleicht ist das gar nicht möglich. Sonst aber sind Brillianz und Schärfe sehr überzeugend. Das war ein guter Fotojob.
