Photographer's Note
The southwest of Santo Antao lies in the rainshadow of the northern mountains and is probably one of the driest places of Cape Verde with less than 100 mm of annualy rainfall. The landscape is pure stone desert with the exception of a few, very small sand banks in Ponta de Peca, the southwestern tip of Santo Antao.
The small volcano on the right is just called "pequeno" by the locals of Tarrafal and climbing to the top costs less than 15 min. Since there is nothing there at all, i located the area as Tarrafal de Monte Trigo, although it is a good distance away from there.
It was quite a feeling to see this lonesome, green tree in this harsh environment. He has only few friends there...

Hi Franz!

Hi Franz!
I like this composition and the coloring. A beautiful, untypical landscape,an interesting nature. Very good sharpness. I like this shot.
Best regards, Leszek
