The beauty of emptyness, a photo from Boa Vista, Barlavento

Photographer's Note

The "Deserto de Viana", the desert of Boa Vista Island on Cabo Verde is a place to hold your breath. Always a strong wind, freshly formed sand patterns that are removed within minutes and a nightmare to every camera because of the sandgrains flying around. But the view is worth it. The desert stretches near the city of Rabil (where the airport is located) up to the north of Boa Vista and is around 3 km in length.

Niemand hat sich zu diesem Foto geaeussert, ich meine die Menschen wissen nicht, was sie mit solchen Fotos anfangen solle. Mir gefaellt das sehr gut, etwas zum Nachdenken, schoene Sandtextur - Wellen im Sand,

The theme is interesting, the photo is surprising. The light and the colors are pleasant, even if I would have liked a little more contrast. The graphics of the dune is used well. A good photo. Bravo.

lunga prospettiva sulla sabbia di questo deserto, ottenendo un bell'effetto grafico.
Il cielo in BG fa da ottimo sfondo e buon contrasto cromatico.

Hallo Franz Xaver,
ein schönes Motiv - aber technisch gesehen einfach zu viel Sand und zu wenig von dem gut strukturierten, grauen Himmel. Wüstenähnliche gebiete auf Inseln sind ja eher selten. Wie weit ist dies hier denn vom Meer entfernt?
Gruß aus dem ebenfalls grauen Südhessen.(ohne Sand)
