Boa Vista (also written Boavista) is an island in the Windward group of Cape Verde. Of all the 10 islands, is situated further east, lying just 455 km from the African coast. His area of 620 km ² makes it the third largest island in the country after Santiago and Santo Antao. It has about 31 km from north to south and 29 km from east to west. The largest settlement on the island is the village of Sal Rei, with about 2500 inhabitants.

Boa Vista has the longest beaches of Cape Verde and has recently been targeted for tourism investors, who built several hotels and tourist infrastructures. There are good conditions for scuba diving, free or independent in several islets that surround the island.
