Hello Gert,
The streets in Praia are undoubtedly full of life. Wherever you look, you will find interesting street scenes.
The beautiful architecture is an extra bonus. Clearly under Portuguese influences.
Your pictures always show a society where life seems reasonable. I must confess that I know very little about this country and that I compare it with other African countries that are more in the news.
Best regards, Paul

Thank you Paul,
Public transports in Cape Verde were just about as irregular and chaotic as anywhere else in Africa, but generally it was a calm and safe country. I wouldn't rule out the possibilities of being robbed at night in Praia, Mindelo or the tourist hub Santa Maris, but that could happen anywhere. (The last time I was robbed was just around the corner from where I live here in Stockholm.) The economy is fairly good, with no outrageous poverty, and it's a politically stable country. The main drawback is probably that most African countries seem more interesting than Cape Verde (and are more risky). Have a nice Sunday, Gert |

Thank you Gert,
Judging by your pictures and those of Jean, the country seems to me interesting. Best wishes, Paul |
