Great PaulVDV 2018-03-11 11:35

Hello Gert,
Three colourful and very attractive daily life-pictures from that small town in Cabo Verde.
The second one in the WS (altered image # 1) is the most beautiful to me, even while the ladies look away.
On that picture the biggest group of people is gathered while on the background we get a nice view of the charming architecture.
Clearly with Portuguese influences.
Being a former Portuguese colony but situated near the coast of West Africa close to Senegal, I wonder what religion these residents have ...
Best regards, Paul

Default To PaulVDV: religion

Thank you Paul,
This is what Wikipedia says:
More than 93% of the population of Cape Verde is nominally Roman Catholic, according to an informal poll taken by local churches. About 5% of the population is Protestant.
There are small Bahá'í communities and a small Muslim community. The number of atheists is estimated at less than 1 percent of the population.

Have a nice week,
Gert

Thank you Gert,

The many headscarves made me doubt.

Best wishes,
Paul

Their headscarves don't look like a Muslim style, rather like protection against the sun. I have no memories of mosques, but a lot of churches.
