Great mkamionka 2016-09-15 11:59

Hi John,
seven years ago or so! I wish I had some treasures like this hidden in my drawer!
Great light amazing contrast of the well lit chapel and the polarized sky. It feels so full of light. And the composition is lovely with some plants framing the scene in the corners. The level of detail is amazing! It feels three dimensional -so sharp it is.
Excellent work!

Default To mkamionka: This is a digital image.....

Hi Mariusz,

Thank you for your kind words!

I got the impression from your critique that you thought this was an old colour slide - no, it is a digital image, taken with my first "real" digital camera, a Canon 20D. It was quite badly underexposed and at the time I tended to use a polariser too much and I think I "overdid" it with this one and the sky was very, very dark - but I managed to rescue it a bit in Photoshop.

Hee, hee, but who are you to comment on sharpness? Every single one of your photographs is absolutely razor-sharp!!

Kind Regards,

P.S. Did you read the complete note? That was virtually a holocaust which the people suffered in this place - and only 150 years ago. Absolutely dreadful. There are still monks and nuns in this monastery nowadays and the place is very, very quiet - you can almost feel that something terrible happened here in the past.
