Great Tigerlily 2014-06-11 2:46

Hi John,
A wonderful shot! Beautiful building, it must be very nice inside..A lot of the Scottish castles have different style from the England ones.. I also imagine that it would make a beautiful picture during autumn when the leaves are falling and the sun is shining...
A very good morning to you,John.

Default To Tigerlily: Now almost a ruin...........

Hi Jasmine,

Thank you for your kind remarks about this one!

This picture was one of those which I've neen taking during my weekly walks around the local countryside and it was taken using my wife's little Canon G10 compact camera - it's much easier and lighter to carry than a big and heavy DSLR on eight or ten miles walks!

This was never so much a "castle" but, rather, a "stately home" but I'm afraid that it is now virtually derelict. Apparently all the interior timbers have rotted and it will soon decay into a complete ruin. What a dreadful shame. It has not been inhabited for many years.

Yes, that sounds like a good idea - a trip back there in autumn might be quite rewarding from the photographic point of view!

Kind Regards,
