Great SnapRJW 2012-01-01 21:36

Hello Brian - Looks as if you had a clear day for the first of the year! You balanced the light well with the grads and I love the detail you captured in the rocks. I like what you have achieved with the colours, a super image to herald the new year. Warm regards and may all your photographic sorties be inspiring. Rosemary
PS. I don't want to nit-pick but you have a little white rim across the margin between the rocks on the LHS and the sky. Over-sharpening?

Default To SnapRJW: the LHS

hi rosemary,
thanks for your comments. yes that rock on the left where it meets the sky was quite dark because of the filters and i isolated it in photoshop and lightened it, so i think that white rim is maybe the border of where i lightened it. best wishes for 2012.
regards,
brian

Smile White Border

Tricky work Brian, I have a set of filters but am ashamed to say I haven't really got to grips with them yet! Did you do any PP sharpening? If you did and the rim is a result of that you may be able to select selectively apply sharpening and avoid the white rim by cutting down the sharpening across that specific area. Have a go, 'cos it's a really good shot and that small tweak would be worth while. Cheers Rosemary
