Great williewhistler 2010-09-12 14:26

Hello Peter,I was interested to see that you took this shot at f2.8,I wondered if an extra half stop would have prevented the image burning out on the top right hand side, just a minor point in an otherwise pleasing shot.
Best regards

Default To williewhistler: Burn out

Thanks for your kind words, Les.

This image was shot with my small compact camera, which unfortunately suffered an accident when I ran over it with my own car a couple of years ago. It now only works on Auto setting and F 2.8 was the setting it chose. I persist in using it because of the excellent results that it gives. I do have a larger Fuji camera that I use too, but as we flew to France on this holiday, weight considerations made me leave that at home.

This image was cropped from a larger one that showed a lot of OE at the right hand side, the fountain itself being in deep shade. I do ponder about small areas of OE in images but often decide to leave them in rather than try PPing them out at the cost of spoiling the main part of the image.

Kind regards,
