About using unsharp mask - I remember I read an article, somewhere at microsoft.com maybe... OK! I've found it!

It helped me a lot, there are very good points in thi article. Another thing is practive - after I read the article I started to practice sharpening and found my system. I'm giving you also address for my observations I wrote on TE:

About the column - I think it's vertical, look at the right photo I think the on the first floor columns are wider on bottom than at the top... :-)But even if not, it doesn't bother me personally...
