Hi Kath,

I like this photo very much. I think you have done an excellent job here. Taking pictures of streaming water is not easy. I have experienced this many times. You very often have difficulties with great contrast between shaded and sunlit areas, dark and bright areas. Here your lighting mangement is excellent. The moss covered rocks are also an advantage because bright rocks could easily be overexposed in otherwise dark sourroundings. I also beleive it was a an advantage that the lighting was not too strong. A cloudy but bright day is often very good when shooting scenes like this. TFS and have a nice Sunday evening!

Thanks Ulf
You are so right. I have found that dull weather is an advantage for waterfalls, or a shaded area, especially if you like to use a slow shutter speed as I do. If the sun is on the water, the best option is a fast shutter, but of course you don't get the silky look. The other problem is when using a slow shutter you have to beware of motion blur on the leaves if it's windy.(as it so often is in the UK) From about 50 shots I only had 3 or 4 usable images.
