I enjoy viewing this picture, and wonder how did you obtain the dark area on top?

Of course your workshop with the roof cloned out much better.

Hi Thanh,

actually the dark area at the top is just the tree's branches. i had crouched close to the ground, and since it was really foggy that night, there wasn't much light filtering through the trees. I guess I got lucky! :)

However, if you want to consciously control the darkness of your pics, you can either use filters (for example: polarizing filters can produce darker skies) or use a faster shutter speed or lower aperture (eg: f/22) to affect the overall darkness of your pic.
