The bug is really sharp but almost lost in the background. I don't think the wall? adds anything to the image. If the background showed the natural environment of the insect it would add to, rather than distract from, the main subject. You really need to focus in tighter on the insect to provide the impact.

I think you are right. Your focus is good, I will try to do the same next time :-) I have more doubts with the resizing, I think the photo loses some details...No?

Any resizing is a compromise between size and quality. I find it best to do this as a 2 stage process. I crop my image and then resize to make the long edge 800 pixel and then "Save for Web" in Photoshop and finally sharpen to compensate for the damage done by the other processes.
