Great trekks 2008-01-21 8:55

Hi Alan

This is a nice scenic view of the Taktshang with great pov and composition. Great light condition to have this shot.

How long would it take you trekking to reach 700m here?

Great work, Alan and thanks for sharing it.

Cheers, bill

Default To trekks: trekking

Hi Bill,
I was in a group of 14 people of various ages, of whom only 5 actually got to the monastery (I was not one of them). This is a high percentage, according to our tour leader. From this viewpoint it is still some time to the monastery, and I didn't go all the way because it was getting rather late and I was rather tired. I would allow about 6 hours if you are fit, but it would depend on how fast you can climb and how much time you spend on photography. It is best to start early in the morning - we went somewhere else before going there which reduced the time available.

Good reply! Really nice place, Bhutan.

It took us 5.5 hours up 6.5km to reach 11,000 feet basecamp of Mt Kinabalu, Sabah, without much photography stop because only using p&s camera.
