Great Isabelle 2006-12-12 7:07

hi, Paul.
there is a smoothness in this image i like a lot. also, its always a surprise for me to see someone at the beach wearing winter clothes (stupid me, but with our climate here...)
while i was making a ws for it, i noticed the richness of the colors on the ground in the foreground. More than the presence of the woman, somehow those colors break the enormous feeling of solitude this beautiful image of yours gives me. one of your best and one of my 100+ fav.

Default To Isabelle: Thanks

Thanks Isabelle, I fear your praise is setting the bar intimidatingly high for future posts, but there... Clothes, well yes it was a cool evening and the weather here has been very erratic. It is often cool at Victor Harbor with the Southern Ocean coming all the way from Antartica. I like those colours too. Strangely the photo has color and texture similar to a very old jigsaw puzzle from the 1920s which we have framed in our house. Guess it was a combination of the natural colours, evening light plus a little flash, and somehow it turned out rather painterly. Pleased you liked it. Paul.
