Great Burnham 2004-06-29 13:08

I'm glad to see that you take pictures that don't including risking your life :o) This is a very nice portrait and the kids seem to enjoy your company as much as you do. The sun looks pretty harsh and it casts strong shadows on their faces, but what can you do? :o)

Default To Burnham: my fears

These are beautiful, innocent kids. It's not my life I risk, but theirs as well by stopping to simply take a picture. I don't get out of the vehicle to avoid drawing attention, to protect them. If the sun's not right, then that's just how it's going to be. Just across the street from where this was taken, not 20 meters away, is the spot where a member of the new Iraqi government was asassinated. At the time this was taken, there were two automatic weapons pointed to the left and right, one on my lap. This photo has a depth that simply cannot be expressed in any way....
