Good Suppaiku 2006-02-03 4:29

It is always interesting to see how todays's architecture and urbanism take from the traditions of every country... Here, we can see todays houses very closed to the houses we can see in photos of the end of 19th century. Thanks for sharing what I like most in Japan.

Default To Suppaiku: Gone with rhe exhaust gas

I can point out two plimary reasons why such streetscapes had gone.
One is the urbanization.
Alomg with the swift industeialization, large part of Japanese population moved to Tokyo and other metropolitan areas leaving historic villages and towns in ruins.
The other is the Motorization.
Old stores and shops have hard times as the townspeapleand villagers leave gathering at Seven Eleven, AEON(ie. Safeway, Tesco, Walmart) or Starbacks.
