Great adam 2005-09-18 3:20

The rainbow of colors and bold signs really capture the essence of a carnival perfectly. The shadows are spooky! What are they actually? How can they be? To me it looks like the devil himself telling a little boy something, but what? Instructions to do something? A warning?

Default To adam: Thanks Adam!

I appreciate you're dropping by and commenting on my photo.

I think you got the idea exactly: these shadows are damned spooky and I wouldn't be surprised if they were the devil's minions whispering in the boy's ear.

I gave a little spiel in my first carny photo, "Great times, bad food, and scary rides," about the dual nature of the carny -- a place of fun, but scary fun, slightly dangerous and sinful fun, the playground of the id, with references and links and whatnot. This image certainly captures a little of that spirit.

Surprisingly, it's never actually ocurred to me to look at your portfolio. I guess I always think of you administering the site and forget that you're a photographer as well. I'll be sure to take a look.

Hope all's well with you.
