Default Polorizer Question

Can anyone tell me if I can use a PL-CIR polorizer on an old manual focus film camera? It's a Minolta X370.

The girl at the cash said as long as it said PL it would work with an older camera.

Thx

PL-CIR (cicular polarizer) should work with any camera. Whereas a linear polarizer would interfere with the autofocus and exposure system. If your camera is fully manual, you could just get a linear polarizer(which apparently provides more vivid contrasts and saturation.)

A linear polariser is also normally much cheaper than a circular polariser. If you only plan to use it on an old manual camera you might as well save some money.
