Very informative article, though I would disagree with disabling targa. I prefer using targa over tif's in most cases, because with two files with the same number of layers, alpha channel, etc. and same compression level or lack there of, when it comes time to archive files into a .zip file (.rar, .ace, etc.) the targa will compress to a 25-50% smaller file than the .tif or .psd file. I suspect it was designed that way. That's my two bits.
